Dr. Erin Lush, Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Erin likes to say that she became a Naturopath because she was unhealthy and no one had helped her yet. She has been in your shoes; sick, unwell, her health interfering with her relationships and how she showed up in the world on a day to day basis trying everything without any success. This makes her a very good support and source of information for you. She is able to simplify the noise, connect the dots, and ultimately help you find your starting point to getting better. She works with you, meeting you where you’re at, to make progress towards your health goals.

She returned home to Ottawa in 2023 and set up her practice after living in Toronto for almost 10 years. In her spare time she is mostly outside; she enjoys walking her dog Cooper who you may have seen in the neighbourhood, skiing, biking, and being at the lake. She also enjoys spending time in the kitchen, is an avid cook and is always reading a book to learn new things.

Dr. Erin Lush, ND graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She is a member in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO). She is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors as well as the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

Emily Reid, Nurse Practitioner

Emily is board-certified Nurse Practitioner, with over 10 years of nursing experience including a strong clinic background in emergency medicine providing a deep understanding of acute care to her practice. However, her true passion emerged through her own health experiences and extensive research during her master’s program, where she explored the profound impact of diet therapy in chronic disease management.

This journey inspired her approach to holistic care, where she combines her knowledge of conventional medical treatments with complementary therapies to provide patient-centered care. She collaborates closely with her patients to create personalized treatment plans that not only address acute and chronic conditions but also prioritize preventive care through nutrition, lifestyle changes, and mental well-being.

Outside of her medical practice, she is an avid outdoor enthusiast. You can find her sailing through the Thousand Islands, prepping for her next marathon or downhill skiing in the winter. Spending time with family, friends, and her golden-doodle are also core values. She strives to live a happy and balanced life, values that she brings into her patient care.

About Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopaths act as primary health physicians; diagnosing disease, ordering lab work and creating customized treatment plans that will work for you because we know that one size does not fit all. Naturopathic Medicine is unique in its ability to blend evidence-based treatments with proven traditional medicine to help you regain your health from the inside out.

Naturopathic Doctors will work for you, digging to find the root cause of your health concern, researching the best practices to heal you, educating you on what is happening in your body to empower you to make the best decisions when it comes to your health. They will also listen to you so you may feel heard for the first time in a long time in a doctor’s office. By gaining a full understanding of what is happening, you will be able to restore your optimal health and get back to living your thriving life.

About Nurse Practitioners

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced healthcare provider with specialized training in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of medical conditions. With a strong foundation in both nursing and medical care, NPs are qualified to assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop personalized treatment plans. They focus on holistic, patient-centered care, emphasizing disease prevention, health education, and wellness.

Patients may choose to see an NP for their comprehensive and personalized approach to healthcare. NPs often spend more time with patients, focusing on education and lifestyle modifications to support long-term wellness. They are accessible providers in primary care and specialty settings, sometimes offering shorter wait times and a more collaborative approach to treatment. In many cases, NPs work independently or in collaboration with physicians, ensuring patients receive thorough, evidence-based, and compassionate care tailored to their unique needs.
